Audio Presets

Give a garment the movement or footstep sound it makes in game, picked from every clothing sound GTA V defines, with an EUP filter, usage counts and custom IDs.

Audio Presets

Every garment can carry a sound: the rustle the game plays as it moves, or the footsteps of a pair of shoes. The Audio preset on an item picks that sound from the list of clothing sounds GTA V itself defines, so what you choose is what plays in game. It is free.

Where to find it

Select an item and open the Properties tab in the item editor. AUDIO PRESET shows the item's current sound; click it to open the picker. Legs items also get a Footstep sound (see below).

Props carry no clothing sound, so the field is greyed out on a prop.

The picker

The picker lists every clothing sound the game defines, measured from Rockstar's own variation files. Each sound shows how many Rockstar items use it, for example Used on N Rockstar items in this slot or Used on N Rockstar items, and Not used by Rockstar for a sound the game defines but never puts on a garment.

None at the top means no clothing sound, which is what most Rockstar items carry.

Search and filters

Type in Search sounds or type an ID to narrow the list. Above the list are filters:

FilterWhat it shows
For this slotThe sounds Rockstar uses on this slot, most used first. Shown when the slot has any.
AllEvery sound, grouped by Tops, Legs, Feet and Gear.
EUPThe sounds Rockstar puts on its own police, sheriff, SWAT, fire, EMS, security and military peds, most worn first. Hover a sound to see which of those peds wear it.
Tops, Legs, Feet, GearOne group of sounds.

The picker can be driven from the keyboard: the arrows move through the list, Enter picks, Tab steps through the filters, and Esc clears the search or closes the picker.

A custom ID

To use a sound that is not in the list, type its ID in the search box and choose Use "…" as a custom ID. The ID is written as typed and is case-sensitive; it may contain letters, digits and underscores only. The item then shows Custom: ….

Footstep sound

Legs items have a second sound, Footstep sound: the footstep sound the game plays while these trousers are worn. Rockstar sets one on most of its trousers (trainers, boots or dress shoes), so the footsteps match the outfit.

  • No footstep sound is the default and builds exactly as before.
  • Each sound shows how many Rockstar legs items use it. Sounds worn by Rockstar's emergency-service peds carry an EUP tag.

An imported item that already has a footstep sound shows the field even when it is not a legs item.

Older projects and imports

  • Imported resources keep their audio IDs. A garment imported from a FiveM resource builds with the same sounds it came with.
  • The old KOJA presets are gone from the list. They were not sounds the game has, so an item using one made no sound in game. Such an item now shows Custom: … — plays no game sound and gets a warning in its Findings tab: An audio preset that plays no sound in game. Click Choose a sound… to pick a real one. Until you do, the item builds as it did before.
