Server Check

Point the tool at a FiveM server's resources folder to see, before you add another pack, which clothing limits it is near and what may crash players or go missing.

Server Check

The server check reads a FiveM server's resources folder, counts its clothing collections, .ymt files and streamed files, and ranks what is likely to crash players or make clothing go missing. Run it before you add another pack to a busy server.

New in 2.0.8. It is free.

Running a check

  1. Open the window

Open the app menu (click Koja Cloth Tool at the top left) and choose Check a FiveM server…. You can also find it with the Ctrl+K command palette. The check opens in its own FiveM server check window.
  2. Choose the folder

Click Choose folder… and pick the server's resources folder, or the server folder above it.
  3. Pick the game build

The Game build setting starts on Build: from server.cfg, which uses the sv_enforceGameBuild line of the server's server.cfg. If there is no server.cfg beside or above the folder, every resource is treated as started and a default build is assumed; pick the server's real build from the list if it differs. The list offers the builds the check has measurements for.
  4. Run it

Click Run check. A large server takes a moment; Cancel stops it. When it is done, the button becomes Check again.

Reading the report

The top of the report says how many resources were found and how many carry clothing. Resources that stream add-on peds count as clothing too. Below that:

  • Risks — every problem found, ranked: errors first, then warnings, then notes, and within each the worst first. Each risk says what is wrong, what to do about it, and which resource it is about.
  • .ymt budget — how many add-on .ymt files the server loads per freemode ped (male and female are counted separately) against what the chosen game build is reported to allow. Replace packs reuse Rockstar's files and take no slot.
  • Streaming — the number of streamed files, their total size, and the largest files.
  • Clothing collections — one row per collection: resource, collection, gender, add-on or replace, the most drawables in one slot, textures, props, and whether server.cfg starts it.
  • Limits and sources — every limit the check uses, with its threshold, its confidence and its source.

Confidence and sources

Most FiveM limits are community measurements that change with game builds. Every risk carries a confidence label, and hovering it shows the Source:

LabelMeaning
FiveM codeRead in FiveM's own source code.
FiveM docsStated in FiveM's documentation.
File formatFollows from the file format itself.
MeasuredMeasured from a real game install.
Loader behaviourWhat FiveM's loader or our own packager does.
Community-measuredMeasured by the community on specific builds.
Community-reportedReported by the community; not confirmed by Cfx.re.
ReasonedReasoned from how the game resolves names; not a published number.

What it checks

CheckWhat it means in game
Drawables per slotA collection holding 255 drawables in one slot is full; the next garment for that slot needs a new collection. Past FiveM's sync limit, the extra garments are invisible to everyone but the wearer.
Props per collectionA collection holds at most 255 props per gender.
Texture variants per drawableVariants are addressed by letter, a to z, so only 26 load.
Texture counts in the .ymtA .ymt that disagrees with its drawables makes wardrobes offer the wrong variants.
Missing model filesThe .ymt lists more drawables than the resource streams. The missing ones are invisible.
Missing data filesfxmanifest.lua names a data_file that is not there, so FiveM refuses to start the resource.
Broken .ymtA .ymt that cannot be read. The game cannot register that collection, so its clothing does not appear.
Duplicate collectionsSeveral resources declare the same collection name. Only one loads; the others point at the wrong drawables.
Clashing replacesSeveral resources replace the same Rockstar collection. Only one wins.
Replace packsA note that a resource replaces a Rockstar collection, so its original garments are gone for every player.
.ymt budgetToo many add-on .ymt files for a freemode ped on this game build; players are reported to crash when the ped loads.
Shop meta entriesClothing past the room the game build has is missing from shops.
Streamed filesHow close the server is to the number of files the streamer can index. Past it, assets stop loading.
Large filesStreamed files of 16 MiB or more often fail to stream to players.
Alternate variationsToo many hair-under-mask switches across the server; hair clips through masks and hats.
Game build and add-on clothingThe server enforces a game build and runs add-on clothing. Changing the build shifts every add-on garment's global index, so outfits saved by global index change.
Resources never startedA resource with clothing that server.cfg never starts. It is left out of every count.

Click Export report (.md) to save the report as a Markdown file, for a ticket or a message to the server owner. It cannot be saved inside the server folder, because the check never writes there.
