# Build Ped Pack

:::hint{type="info" title="Premium"}
Build ped pack needs Premium. Building a ped with its clothes, or any game or resource ped, uses the Ped Library licence. Building only peds you saved in the Ped Creator uses the Ped Creator licence.
:::

New in 2.0.8. **Build ped pack** turns peds from the project's [Ped Library](/cloth-tool/about-the-tool/ped-library) into FiveM resources your server can start: one ped or several, each with the clothes made for it or on its own, in one resource or one resource per ped. It is a separate build from the clothing pack, so you can ship peds without rebuilding everything else.

## Opening it

The window opens from several places, each with the right peds already ticked:

| From | What is ticked |
| --- | --- |
| **Build ped pack…** in the header of a ped's tab in the item list | That ped, with its clothes. |
| **Build ped only…** on a ped tab with no clothes yet | That ped, as **Ped only**. |
| **Build ped pack…** on a ped's card in the Ped Library | That ped. |
| **Build as ped pack…** under **Clothes for peds** in the build window | The peds listed there. |

Opened with no ped in mind, every ped that has clothes is ticked. A ped with a problem is never ticked for you.

## Choosing the peds

The window lists every ped in the Ped Library, with its picture, where it came from and its gender. The line at the top counts how many are ticked, with **Tick all** and **Untick all**.

For each ticked ped, choose what goes in:

| Choice | What it builds |
| --- | --- |
| **With its clothes (N)** | The ped and the N items whose **Target ped** is this ped. |
| **Ped only** | The ped alone, without any clothes. |

**With its clothes** cannot be chosen when no items are built for the ped yet (**No items are built for this ped yet.**) or when the ped cannot wear clothes, for example an animal (**This ped cannot wear clothes.**).

### Model name for game peds

A ped from your GTA V install needs a **Model name** of its own before it can be built. A resource named after the game's own ped would replace that ped for every player, so the original name is refused. The model name is the name your server spawns:

- letters, digits and `_` only, up to 32 characters;
- not a freemode name;
- not the same as another ticked ped's name (two peds of one model name would fight over the same files).

An animal from the game cannot be built here directly: open it in the [Ped Creator](/cloth-tool/about-the-tool/ped-creator), save it there, then build its saved copy.

## Output

| Option | What it writes |
| --- | --- |
| **One resource with all peds** | One resource folder, named in **Resource name**, with every ticked ped. This is the default when more than one ped is ticked. |
| **One resource per ped** | A resource folder for each ped, named by **Name pattern**. `<ped>` is replaced by each ped's model name; without it, `_<ped>` is added to the end. |

Below that:

- **Output folder**: where the resources go. **Browse…** picks a folder.
- **A stream folder per ped**: keeps each ped's files in a folder of its own inside `stream`.
- **Write clothes_info.json**: also writes the list of every garment with its slot and drawable number.

:::hint{type="warning" title="Legacy only"}
Ped resources are built for GTA V Legacy only. They cannot be converted for GTA V Enhanced yet.
:::

Click **Build N ped(s)**. Progress is shown as each ped is prepared and built; **Cancel build** stops it.

## The result

When the build finishes, the window says how many peds were built and lists, per ped:

- where it went: **with N garment(s) → resource**, **ped only → resource**, or **left out** with the reason;
- a table of its garments with **Garment**, **Slot**, **Component**, **Drawable** and **Textures**. Garments moved onto the ped's own skeleton are marked **retargeted**;
- any garments that were left out, with the reason.

The ped keeps its own drawables, and your garments are numbered after them. The **Drawable** column is the number you use in game, for example with `SetPedComponentVariation`.

Above the list are the lines to add to `server.cfg`, above any script that spawns peds. **Copy** copies one line, **Copy all** copies them all. **Open folder** shows the result in Explorer, and **Back to the choice** returns to the list to build again.

## What is not included

- Shop entries, hair hiding, high-heel raise and props work on the freemode peds only. For other peds the build leaves them out.
- A copy made with **Fit to ped** ships as fitted. A copy fitted for a different ped is left out, with the reason.

## Building ped clothes with the clothing pack

Clothes for library peds can also go out with your normal clothing build. In the build window, **Clothes for peds** lists each ped with its garment count and resource. Untick **Build *ped*'s clothes with this pack** to leave that ped's clothes out of this build only, or use **Build as ped pack…** to build them here instead.
